Fashion Adventure: One-Piece Pajamas, Anyone?

There are times when you get bored with the clothes you wear so you long for something different. Some people who are adventurous try fashion styles that are so outrageous they look downright silly. But hey, whatever floats your boat, right? True. However, trying something different is one thing, but putting on something too outlandish may get you stares that would make you feel like you want to disappear from the face of the earth in a flash.

However, if you want to go a for a fashion statement that will elicit a few curious (hopefully not disgusted) looks, why not try donning an outfit that looks like a one-piece pajama or an over-sized infant bodysuit? Sure, it’s designed for babies, but who’s stopping you from wearing it? It’s like a baby shirt, except that it extends below the waistline and is closed over the crotch. The adult version differs in that they extend all the way down to cover both legs. Celebrities like Brad Pitt have been seen wearing this kind of outfit that is more suited in bed. But again, who’s keeping you from giving it a try?

If you want to give it a go, you can make it look stylish and not too pajama-looking by wearing certain accessories. You can also wear an undershirt and pull your adult bodysuit zipper down to reveal the undershirt. This can somehow downplay the perception of it being pajama-like. Wearing the right shoes also plays a big part in making the outfit look more mainstream. You can also wear a pair of sunnies that can complement it. The idea is to drive the attention towards other pieces of garment and accessories so your overall look will be balanced out.

If you intend to walk around town with your friends in your pajama-looking outfit, a fashion faux pas you can commit is to have them wear the same type of outfit. This will make you look like a bunch of overgrown kids that just got out of their cribs. Of course, you can’t stop them from wearing one themselves. However, if you can help it, try to minimize the adult bodysuit-wearer in your group to just one.

Trying out new things like having a bit of change in your fashion style can be exciting and even a bit liberating at times. If you feel comfortable with and very sure of whom you are, it will definitely show through no matter what you wear.
